Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 issues

Hey folks,
I've hit what appears to be something of a problem when playing Virtual Pro Wrestling 2. If the CPU core style is set to Recompiler and I run the game, then P64 errors with "In a permanent loop that cannot be exited. Emulation will now stop. Verify ROM and ROM settings." However, if I change the setting to Interpreter then the game runs fine albeit unplayable (I only have a humble Duron 600 at the moment). I've tried playing around with the settings a bit, but to no avail. Could anyone shed some possible light on this? The strange thing is that when I first obtained the ROM a couple of days back, I'm pretty certain it worked just fine with the CPU core style set to Recompiler.

Verify the rom with goodn64. You will find a link below. This is most likely due to a bad rom.

thats my favorite game....i had problems before with rices plugin with a error popup when the ring entrances happened but when pj64 1.5 came out it ran awsome on it...i still feel its the best rom i have ever played....right up there with mario...wish i still had it....:doh:
but yeah see if its a good rom

The rom itself appears to be fine, I checked it with GoodN64 right after I got it. Copy and paste from 30 seconds ago follows:

Hmmm, I think I've fixed it. I removed Project64 from my system and then reinstalled it and now it VPW2 works fine again. Guess I must have unwittingly changed something that prevented the game from working.
