more information please

You didn't include enough information in your post.

Please post at least the error messages you saw and when they appeared or screenshots if that seems easier.

Please also clue us in on anything you tried - like cleaning out the registry or whatever.

you can try installing windows...

Your problem is very strange indeed, I don't think I will be able to give you much help because I have never heard a problem like yours before.

I would think its a corrupted registry string or a system file.

Maybe you can try redownloading pj64 off the official site www.pj64.net sometime downloading can cause corrupted files.

Good luck

Now that shows that he was expecting the d3d7 like in B1

instead of what it is looking for which is v7

and that sounds like he has confimed that he indeed was looking for d3d7 :)

If he does any work with video editing he probably overflows that 3GB frequently :holiday:

OK I did clear the registry and it still didnt work. I am telling ya I run 1.5 and it doesnt open or opens and closes almost as fast. Sometimes I get a memory error message with it. The error message is different each time, but the general theme is memory. I have 3GB of ECC DDR Ram so Its not my Ram. And the beta works fine. Now can you help me out.

"Too much memory error" ? :)
Some programs works strange or cannot run at all if available memory bigger than expected amount.

One old DOS game works perfectly w/ 128M but i've got "This program
requires 8096 Kb of XMS memory. You have -65535Kb of XMS memory"
w/ 256Mb.

Win98 works ok w/ 2Gb of RAM. I've tried to boot it w/ 2x 4Gb ECC DIMMs
- i've got BSOD with "VMM blah blah..." Linux works ok.

Im_mario,

Did you check to make sure you don't have a RAM problem
cause of a problem that plagues some motherboards
causing stability problems if and when more than one
RAM module slot is being used on the motherboard?

Also, Jabo's GFX plugin 1.5 does come in only a DirectX 6 flavor,
because a DirectX 7 style GFX renderer was not required.

Because Jabo's GFX plugin 1.5 is made for Project64 1.5 final,
it should work OK. I in fact don't recommend
Jabo's GFX plugin 1.4, because there are GFX rendering
errors in Perfect Dark and some other games
which were fixed with Jabo's GFX plugin 1.5.

You are more likely to get artifacts with Jabo's GFX plugin 1.4 .

Win98 doesn't work ok with anything above 512 mb. Even 512 is unstable i think.

1.4 also very unstable thing - hangups/reboots on some configurations.
But it's required for some games (BTW some of them will work much better w/ Glide64

BTW. I've just tried PJ64 1.5 on my work machine (2xAMP 2600+/16G RAM/Radeon 8500) Everything is ok.
