Slowdown problems with Killer Instinct Gold

Ok, whenever I start up the game everything appears to be fine. But when I go past the first menu the frame rate drops from a pretty solid 59-60 FPS to about 30 FPS. There also appears to be something wrong with the graphics while fighting.

System specs
Processor: 2.56Ghz P4
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 with AGP8x (with latest drivers)
Sound Card: Avance AC97 Audio
HD: 120 Gb
WindowsXP Home Edition

I tried that, but all I get is a blank, green screen no matter which UCode I choose. :doh:

Ok...so does ANYONE have any suggestions?
