I saw that the patch's documentation states it can be dangerous
for some hardware to use the latency patch.

Do I have to worry about the motherboard and/or other devices
being damaged if applying the latency patch?

I'm now afraid of applying the latency patch, because of the
misleading documentation.

It is not really damaging to the hardware per se, but what it might do for example is fuck up disk io transfer, or some such thing. Blame crappy via chipsets ;)
