C & C:Red Alert and Win. XP

Arrrgh.
If anyone else has had problems installing this on XP, help would be greatly appreciated. The installation detects my Windows XP as Windows 5.1, And as it's only meant to work with '95 and up, it won't install.

Of course, if there is some all - encompassing solution to all older game incompatibility on XP that every idiot should know, I'd like to hear that too.

Try runnning the whole install program in compatibility mode.

I've always been able to get the dos version to work in XP, but the 95 one never seems to work no matter what compatibility mode its in. Both work fine in 2K though, good thing only 2 computers on my network use xp.
