I can't get SP1 to install on my system, everytime i go to windows udpate it says "failed to install Win XP SP1"

Is your copy of WinXP a legal copy, or a bootleg copy?

burned cd from a legal copy.

n/m i got it, i had to download the individual file ;) windows update is not working well for me...

I recommend you to install the SP1, just after you install a clean copy of WinXP, not with an "old" installed WinXP
