View Full Version : how do i get my gf2 mx to work with my mobo?

a friend of mine lended me a gf2 mx. i tried a while back, and it didn't work. i get two short beeps, than 1 long one. How do i get it to work?

my mobo is a Gigabyte 7IXE4, and it has AGP 2X.

hmm...... never used a board with AMI BIOS before, but obviously, if that started happening when switching cards, be sure your power supply is up to good for the card, as well as try re-seating it.........be sure to check the placement of your ram modules as well....... when all else fails, clear the cmos setup

RAMe error would be one long beep from the PC speaker AFAIK

Try checking your motherboard manual. Sometimes it can be of help.

i mean it has two short beeps than waits a second, than another short beep.

Try finding the manual online OR open the manual .. it should give you information on what the beeping heck the beeps mean ;)

didn't think of this gokuus when i was talkin to ya, but you might have not pushed it in all the way;) doubt it, but heyy i know your going to get a new mobo soon;)
