Question about backups and VGA display.

I'm planning on purchasing a VGA cable for my Dreamcast soon and was wondering if backups had any discrepancies versus the original copy of games when viewing in VGA glory. I believe that it would make little difference since rippers usually don't mess with visuals and the Dreamcast natively outputs a digital, VGA signal. Can anyone help me confirm this?

Backup are illegal warez, those files are downsampled video/music so less stunning than original and LEGAL game
