You might want to get the nrage input plugin from that site, but the default Jabo audio/video plugins in the new pj64 should work the best in most games if you have a decent system. For some games you might want to use the 1.4 video plugin, which is included with the older version of pj64.

I'd grab every version of Jabo's D3d plugins i could, they're all pretty damn good.
Dave's Glide is good.
Iceir8's Tr64 Opengl plugin is getting much better.
The 1964 opengl plugin is getting better.
Orkin's opengl plugins is almost there...
The daedalus D3D plugin by Rice is damn good a lot of the time..
I'd get azimer's audio, pretty much any version (.40's good)...

You're right... there are a bunch of plugins... but he's a newbie so I don't think he needs to be confused with 8 different plugins and all the advanced settings. As I said, Jabo's defaults are the best for most people with good computers (1.4 ghz and up and geforce2 and up). Post your specs so we know what we're dealing with, but the defaults work best for me on 90% of the games... and the few that don't (ones that have pausing problems) I use Jabo's 1.4 video plugin.
