Frame limiter : 45 FPS ?!?

Hi
Until recently, I used PJ64 with no problem at all... The "limit FPS" option worked fine... But since I reinstalled WinXP, when I turn on the frame limiter, I get only 45 FPS ! And when I turn it off, I get a very high framerate (about 90 FPS)...
I tried several drivers with no success... Does anyone know that problem ?

My specs :
AthlonXP 1800+
Geforce4 Ti4200
256 Mo SDRAM

Thanks ! :)

Also make sure that you disable VSync in your Display Properties after installing new drivers (especially Nvidia).

BTW, Nvidia's latest offering is up to 40.72.

sometimes turning the 'sync to audio' option on, can make the framerate go no higher than 45fps. Make sure to check it.

also apply the XP refresh rate Fix and make sure u are using the newest drivers from Nvidia.com for XP

Vsync and refrash rate have nothing to do with this problem - why? Because it is highly unlikely that his monitor is running at a refresh rate of 45hz. As xystus mentioned, it is probably because he has sync game to audio switched on.

Thanks, but I already tried to reinstall the drivers... And I'm using the same version as before, so it should work...
And the "sync to audio" option is off... When I turn it on (with the frame limiter off), it does limit the frame rate at 60, but I don't like it... It gives a perfect sound, but it's not as smooth as it would be with the frame limiter.
:(

hehe.. I've posted a topic on this.. but there is no solution. It's 60fps locked, or no lock at all.

play it like it was meant to be: at 60fps :D

How the f*** can it be related to his specs Stezo? No offense mate, but you need to read the posts before actually replying to them sometimes!

The only suggestion I have for tomawashi, is to uninstall, and then remove all registry settings for PJ64.

it may be a hardware problem (thats what i meant by system specs) make sure your AGP 4x drivers are up to date also, that will give u a performance boost, may even help your problem, who knows?

but i'd recomend trotter's "uninstalling" option

Soz about the unfreindlyness trotterwatch
