    Problems with Emulator

Why is it that I have to refresh the GUI before I play a game?

Why don't some of my roms appear in the gui the first time it starts up?

Im having sound problems at the moment (choppy as hell) and Im getting short pauses during gameplay.(mario kart in particular)

I have had this emulator running fine (except mario kart)before I formatted my hd. Now every game I have tried has sound problems like I described

    Im using Jabo's 1.5 plugins

    My System:
    Athlon XP 1800+
    GeForce4 mx 420
    40 gig hdd
    C-media AC97 audio 18bit codec
    Windows98 second Edition

Have you upgraded your graphics drivers?
I'd suggest the newest detionators you can find on Nvidia's website.
Uninstall pj64 with the registry keys given, then reinstall it.
You should have no problem running most games at perfect speed.

    What are registry keys?

I have 30.82 drivers at the moment.
A friend told me to stay away from detonator drivers.

What I have done is copied the pj64 folder to cd then just copied it back to my system. Do I need to download PJ 64 again?

Where can I get a zipped copy of PJ64 (So I don't have to keep downloading it every time I format my hard drive)?

Registry keys are things that any version of Windows after 95 records into a big file... it saves settings for file types and a malee of other things.

Your friend is wrong about the detonator drivers.

What I have done is copied the pj64 folder to cd then just copied it back to my system. Do I need to download PJ 64 again?
Delete a file in the PJ64 directory called "Project64.cache."
Where can I get a zipped copy of PJ64 (So I don't have to keep downloading it every time I format my hard drive)?
I'd suggest just downloading the exe file off of Pj64.net and renaming it from .exe to .zip, it'll open the same in Winzip, Ultimatezip, etc.

Delete the registery, too. Goto the uninstall folder and use the reg-files there to clean the pj registery settings.
Also for the install, it should be "clean". Meaning, delete ALL of the files in the folder before reinstalling. And deletign the registery, too.
Try diffrent sound plugins as well.

Need to download GoodN64 or instructions to use it? Need to check if it's a good or bad rom?

Ok Ive done all that but Im still getting sound problems with all the roms using Jabo's directsound 1.5

The thing is Ive had PJ64 1.5 working with no problems at all
Ive tried using Jabos direct sound 1.4 but when I install it 1.5 goes missing

I have a sound problem here that has nothing to do with plugins as Ive had it working before

Try azimer's audio 0.40 b2 or 0.30 old and new with sync to audio.
