Rumrak's Game Compatibility List

Hey all

For some time now I have been working on my own personal N64 game compatibility list for future reference. And thought it would be a waste to not share it with every one else. I am sure there are several other lists floating around out there but I thought this one may help others out there with closer PC specs to my own.

Which is:

Athlon 800
256 SDRAM PC100
Geforce2 GTS 32mb
Sound Blaster Live
Win2k

If you are interested can view the list online or download the text version.

http://www.angelfire.com/games4/zom/n64.html

Let me know what you think and am I missing any other important info? Generaly what is not noted is the ROMs default.

I do have several games listed there I can't get fully working. If any one can help at all with them would be great.

Current List Version 1.02

115 Playable - 31 With Problems - 13 Won't Run - Total 159 Games Tested

Thx guys, I am still fairly new to N64 roms so learning as I go :)

lately I have been playing around with the Counter Factor which seems to really help many games & CLB also helps some.

out of the games you posted here got 2 of them working well so far.

Indy Racing 2000 - works great now - changes made here were: Change Memory & Cache (this is what caused the freezing, I had it on Protect Memory) speed was better but still slow, changed the CF to 4 which gave a real nice boost in speed running at a stedy 55 fps & crisp sound.

GT Championship Edition - working decent - not quite sure what went wrong last time seemed to work np this time. using CF=1, I do get the random lockups like the RDB says, but the pause & resume fixes that.

Blues Brothers 2000 - I did get some further progress here, I seen the first few logos, then it hangs after the 1 Player picture. thats in 1964 using the same Settings you posted. The fix that got me that bit further was, I enabled DMA Segments. iq_132 what is your rom properties? maybe I have something else set wrong in there I havent catched.

For the other two, Clay Fighter - Sculptor's Cut that one is a bad dump for sure.. first thing I see is a memory error within the rom.

Worms - Armageddon - I have still had no luck with this one.. in PJ64 I get nothin it doesnt even load the video doesnt show any FPS, nor gives any error. with 1964 I can see the VI's so its doing soemthing but still no video showing.. perhaps another bad rom? I am going to re-download Sculptors cut & worms then will try things again, will let you know how it goes.

Wow, it is true that some of the stuff needs to be updated or retested, and some games are not on there (Like Rogue Squadron unless I missed it) , but I'd like to commend you on the time and effort put into it. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.:)

Thanks..

Aye many many hours into that list now, some of them roms sure take alot of tweaking/time to get working right for a slower machine. But all in the end its worth it :) real nice having that reference next time I go to play them.

Modem

ph33r teh hammy!
Very nice. It'll definatly help the people with lower specs. I'd say this really doesn't apply to the people with newer computers, only because they have newer video cards/processors and tons of ram. It'll give them a idea of what can/can't run on their computers. *cough* gent *cough* ;) :D
