    Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 Question

I just recently got a new computer with the Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB video card (Kyro chipset) and I was wondering if I would get better game play if I got a different video card plugin, I have been using the default plugin for Project 64 and I have gotten alright results, game play slows down every once in awhile

Nope. Kyro cards come with poor drivers and use some different methods of producing 3d objects. Tell us your cpu/ram/etc.. It isn't really likely the problem is the kyro. Also, what roms are you running?

I have an AMD Athlon 800, 512 Ram. I get very choppy sound in most games and in mario golf, the frame rate goes way down in certain parts, I'll see what happens when I try other games, that is the only one I've tried so far

    Cool

Partly the athlon. Pj64 requires an upwards of 1ghz for perfect audio and graphics speed (apart from the limitations of the emu itself) One solution, use 1964, it's a helluva lot faster and almost as compatible (only 1 or 2 games short of being on par with it).

Since your card isn't in the reccomended spec, I'd use glide64+evoodoo, Azimer's 0.30 audio and Nrage's KICKASS input

sorry to keep bothering you, but where can I find the glide plugin? I found glide64_0253.zip, but when I upzipped it into the plugin directory, it didn't recognize it

You need to get Evoodoo (a glide wrapper) because glide is designed for 3dfx cards (native api). Evoodoo wil translate glide funcs to D3D ones. I dunno the site, but try searching "evoodoo" on google, you'll get the homepage. Next, unzip all files to c:/windows/system (c:/windows/system32 if on XP) then go to Start>Run>Econtrol and turn off tripple buffer and fast alternate zbuffer. Go to plugin config and it should find it.

wow, I did all that and loaded up mario golf, ran horribly, looks like this whole emulation of n64 games is too much work...i'll just stick to PC games and snes/nes emulation. Thanks for all your help
