    Crash when trying to map controls with an XInput controller

    I've been using demul for a while, and it's always worked very well. However, lately, I am having an issue where attempting to map the controls with an XInput device causes demul to crash. I've tried with an official Xbox One controller, an official Xbox 360 controller, and a knockoff Xbox 360 controller - all with the same results. However, the same knockoff Xbox 360 unit has the option to use the older DirectInput protocol, and that seems to work fine. The crash happens both on my primary Windows 10 gaming PC with a GTX 1080 and on my wife's Windows 8.1 laptop, as well as with the current version of demul and an older 0.7 build that I know worked prior to this issue occurring. Is there something I'm missing that might be a fix? I'd rather not use the DirectInput controller because the triggers get mapped as buttons, rather than analog triggers.
