What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Getting 2D elements to look smooth in 3D games

Zelda Hi-Res Texturer
One of the issues with the HUD in Mario 64, is that the elements do not support smooth alpha edges, so they will look a little pixelated, no matter what you do.

Ahh that makes sense, I wonder if that could be integrated into the emulator. These upscaled versions are still a big improvement on a CRT though.

Ocarina of Time and many other games do enable Alpha HUD elements, I think it is a limitation with the game's code, not something that the emulator needs to, or can do something about.

I wonder if there is a repository of 2D/Hud elements anywhere for these games that have been made in high res from scratch that stay as true to the original elements as possible?

Are we done with Mario 64 yet? If so, I'm not sure I have all the elements yet, perhaps I haven't got things running right, I'll take a look.

After, are you up for doing Ocarina of time? I'll be happy to collect the and dump the files if you upscale..
