King of Route 66 boots to error message

While trying to run The King of Route 66 on DEMUL v0.7 Alpha BUILD 180816 it just kinda stops there and I couldn't find an option in the test menu that fixes that.
The compatibility list that comes with the emulator says this is one of those "fully working" games.

you have to disable drive board (force feedback) in game settings
Game Test Mode - Game Assignments - Motor Power - No Use
