Getting error 80040154 running DC
IDirectInput CreateDevice mouse FAILED

ERROR! (HRESULT = 80040154) IDirectInput CreateDevice mouse FAILED

This happens when I try to go to file -> run dc.


PC Specs:
i5 haswell
750gt nvidia
16GB DDR3 memory.
Samsung 850 pro ssd hard drive


Any idea what could cause this? I've searched all over google with no luck.

I've tried v .0.5.6 and v0.7 alpha date 12/22/2015. Same result.

I copied this entire setup to my computer which is a i7-6700k at 5ghz with 64gb of ddr4 memory and dual 970gtx's and I don't get that error. I wonder if it's simply because I do not have a mouse or keyboard plugged into my gaming machine? I purely manage it via ultravnc and only controllers are plugged into it.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue. Can't get demul to run anything with no mouse plugged in.
