I would like to thank CCTEX for informing us of this gem.
Basically PhotoZoom pro 6 magnifies your images to near infinity (one million by one million pixels); and does so with out distortion!

Program overview:

Here is an example of Bowser's eye from SM64.
There was no outside work of any kind has been done to this file.

Original:
(64x32)
w4ldx.png

Sure it's head and shoulders over the textures found in the NES version but nowhere near today's standards.

Photoshop:
(512x256)
20uv7sz.png

Enlarged but fuzzy

SmillaEnlarger:

Enlarged and less fuzzy.

PhotoZoom pro 6:

As you can see PhotoZoom enlarges without causing the image to distort.

I had forgotten about SmillaEnlarger, never really used it do to it's clunky look.

I have tested and uploaded an image using sharp preset. It comes close.

Freeware is good but usually comes with less options.
Don't get me wrong I'm not looking to pee on anybody's birthday cake; but I have need of the batch feature and Photoshop integration.

I would like to test PhotoZoom out on your HDned Spirit rips.
Also I wouldn't mind if seasoned forum members sent requests (via new thread) to me. I can't share the program but there in nothing saying that I can't use it to help others.
