    Please Help! Ubuntu NEWB with Mupen64 screen flashing issues!

    I'm trying so hard to integrate into Ubuntu, it's definitely a new experience for me and I'm sorry to say I'm not very well-versed in understanding the ins and outs of this new OS. Coming from Windows my whole life. I have a Lenovo ideapad z585 with AMD10 processor and Radeon graphics card. I miss my ROMs from Windows though, and unfortunately I'm considering migrating back to get this feature back. I downloaded Mupen64Plus on Ubuntu 18.04 and I've been able to download most of my ROMs that I love to play, they load but the flashing screen issue is impossible. I've researched tons of forum suggestions all say [SOLVED] but the suggestions offered are so foreign to me I have no idea where to start. I don't know if anyone can help me, you almost need to tell me like I'm a 2 yr old I think with being so novice on this OS.. Here's the glxinfo tho it might as well be written in Chinese to me..

    First, find the mupen64plus.cfg file. It should be in .config/mupen64plus/

    If you use Rice, try different ScreenUpdateSetting values to see if it impact flickering.

    Maybe you can try to download and use this:

    I tried all the ScreenUpdateSetting values, from 1 to 7.

    Interestingly, glide64mk2 was more laggy than glide64.

    The result now is that it has actually gotten worse.

    I changed the ScreenUpdateSetting back to 1 and i'm using the same old command as i did the first time:

    But now the emulator runs at something like 800x600 and not like 1024x600.
    No more flashing and blinking, but heavy lag.

    It was playable despite all the flashing and blinking before.

    Here's the output of the terminal from yesterday, before i tried glide64 and the different ScreenUpdateSetting values:

    Seems like i have to reinstall mupen64plus to get it back to non-laggy but flashy/blinking?

    It looks like i'm stuck in glide64, and can't change back to OpenGL Pnr Status TextNow VPN ?

    Can i specify OpenGL in terminal?
