Major Pokemon Stadium 2 error?

So I've run into a problem. Once I defeat Lance and Kanto's Gym Leader Castle is about to open up...the game white screens and just stays that way no matter what I do. If it's worth noting, the VI/s jumps from an average of 56-59.00 to 340.00+ plus when it happens.

Does anybody have an idea of how to solve or get around this?

EDIT: I've included a save of around the time it happens. I'd make a video clip instead if I knew how to go about that.
