Play single player with two controllers?

Hi!
Me and my friend want to try to tackle on Ocarina of Time together, with two controllers.
But I'm not really sure how I would do this :x

First off, is it possible? That both of us can control Link together?
If so, does anyone know how we would be able to do this?

This would cause Link to seem disorientated.
It is possible to assign weapons and other non-active buttons to a secondary device.
I once created a modifier for the Nrage plugin that allowed my to shoot my opponents weapons in Mariokart64.:icecream:

That's kind of the point, though
Both us are trying to control him to do stuff.

But I have a backup plan which is something along the lines of what you suggested.
I thought maybe having UP and LEFT assigned to one controller, and DOWN and RIGHT assigned to the other, and etc.
