What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Is it difficult retexturing?

Hi all.

I was wondering how hard it is to retexture some textures for a complete newbie. I have no experience with photoshop nor any other program. Do you think it is possible that I get to help with some packs in not too much time? How much time would that be?

I just have some spare time and I am looking for a new hobby.

Opinions of experts in the matter would be appreciated.

Well it does kind of require a bit of learning, but it is a great learning experience :), your skills will improve quite rapidly the more you do.
Basic principle in my mind is not to just plainly replace a texture with an image off the internet, make sure you actually take the time to get the texture to fit properly though. My problem with alot of texture packs is they just replace the images with no consideration with how it should sit and feel in the game world or how the lighting will effect it and so on.

Fairly sure mode7 had some tutorials around somewhere for beginners looking to getting into texturing. I should find them
