What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

I want to play paper mario again, but I've never been able to get a flawless emulation for it. What is the best plugin to use to get the best performance for it?

With High Resolution Textures? (I would assume so, since you posted this in the High Resolution Textures subforum) Glide64, default INI settings (trough it may be somewhat slow depending on your computer.

Without High Resolution Textures: Jabo Direct3D 8 1.7, default settings.

Both plugins are included in Project64 2.1.

Thx. I've never been able to get glide to really work at all on any pc i've had at the time. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but rice always works better, but it never gets paper mario quite right.

Hey mollymutt, could you do me a favour and point out points where Rice doesn't emulator paper mario right?
Cheers if you could

There's a problem in Rice Video at the moment (fixed in my latest github commit) that causes a crash when their are duplicate textures. this might be related if its crashing during texture loading.

What version of PJ64 are you using?
What Plugin are you using and what revision is it?
Do you have the latest RDB file?
Do you have the {Pause emulator when not active} option checked?

I have 3 versions, and all 3 crash when changing video options. I'm using rice video 0.1. I'm assuming that I have the latest RDB file version 2.1.0.1 at least. And I do have the {Pause emulator when not active} option checked. I know I'm being a pain in the ass, but I have been entertaining the idea of returning to my old pack, and maybe starting it up again.
