Hello i have just bought the zbox id34 ZOTAC ZBOX HD-ID34 Blu-ray (since its my first post it wont let me link url sorry) and am hoping to use it for movies and emulators !!!


My Question is will it be powerful enough for Gamecube Games ! If it is could somebody reccomend the best plugins and setup for Dolphin !

For GameCube games? That thing is not anywhere near powerful enough for that. Maybe N64 games, but even then don't expect spectacular results under all circumstances.

Next time actually check the requirements for Dolphin before purchasing a PC specifically for that; http://dolphin-emu.org/docs/faq/#hardware-system-requirements

It has Nvidia ION, which is helpful for this kind of system as it supports a good amount of both DirectX and OpenGL in hardware so you could use plenty of different plugins without glitches. But N64 emulation would probably be the usable limit due to the Atom CPU holding it back. You may get lucky with nullDC with various games as well, so that might be worth a try.

Yeah was thinking that I have a Toshiba Qosmio x505-Q894 which I'm sure would run most !! got the zbox for $160 though so couldnt say no haha :)
Thanks for the help do you know what the best settings would be for Project 64 so at least i could use it for that and earlier consoles !

I'm sorry if this saddens you, but your TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q894 won't run most GameCube games, at least not at full speed. I really recommend you actually check Dolphin's system requirements: http://dolphin-emu.org/docs/faq/#hardware-system-requirements to see if your system can run GC games at full speed.
