What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

I downloaded Djipi's Majora's Mask cell pack, but i got 2 .dat files. i know they must be in the "cache" folder, but i can't get it to work.

is it possible to extract the texture from the .dat into folders like normal texture packs?
If it isn't possible, at least i want to use the pack.

You need to use Glide64 to use .dat files. Make sure you select "Save texture cache to hard disk" and that you don't have any folder named "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA" in hires_texture, or else the .DAT will be overwritten.

It IS possible to extract the textures from the .dat, but it would be against the author's wishes to tell you how.
(and it can only be done under Linux)

I'm using Glide 64, but the file doesn't load.
it just loads the normal textures, and i renamed my other pack' folder, but it doesn't work.
I'm using Project 64 1.7 with Glide 64 'Napalm WX' WIP Oct. 6 2...(i can't read the rest of the name).

I could get it to work, i just had to uncheck the texture compression.
But i think this will make the game slow, Majora's mask is the only game that seems to lag in my pc even without texture packs.

I'm having this same issue... Neither of djipi's Zelda celpacks will load at all. There's no indication the program even recognizes them. Files are in /Project64 2.0/Plugin/GFX/cache, and there's no overriding pack sitting in the hires_texture folder. Using Glide64Final. I can never get everything to work at the same time

Regular hires_texture .png packs will load just fine.

1. Is "Save texture cache to hard disk" enabled?
2. Download Project64 2.1 (it solves a problem with file paths).
