EarthWorm Jim 3d problem

I am trying to play EarthWorm Jim 3D, but when I get to the "pick game section" I can not select an option. I can get past the "press start" screen, and I can even see that there are three game slots avaible, but I can not actually select the empty game. Please help if you can!!!

I am just using my keyboard, the controls work until I need to select a game file. This is my first time using an emulator .
