What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.
  • As members seem to have a problem reading the release threads:

Djipi's packs are built for the (Glide64 finale) Plugin. Nolonger supported!
Djipi's packs are built for the (GlideN64) Plugin.
These two Plugins are two completely different pieces of code.

GlideN64.HTC archived packs locked by Djipi are not compatible with use on Glide64, Rice video, nor Jabo video.

Glide64.DAT archived packs locked by Djipi are not compatible with use on GlideN64, Rice video, nor Jabo video.

Djipi has never made a pack for use with Rice video and never will. any packs found in this format are not authorized!

GlideN64 is the new standard and only requires an Radeon 6XXX.
This is a somewhat older GPU and should be readily available.
Do everyone a favor and upgrade!

I understand, lets just hope someday he decides to release the traditional folder version, or someone can open those .dat files and truly make this the ultimate re-texture pack for OOT&MQ. Cheers!

Hi, I've managed to get this texture pack working for MM, but I have a question regarding what version of MM to use. It seems like in order for all the textures to load, I should use "Majora's Mask (E) (M4) (v1.0)". My only problem with this is that the American version -- Majora's Mask (U) -- runs at a better framerate. The European one runs at about 15-17 fps, which is a noticeable drop from a consistent 20 fps for the American version. Is there a reason why the European version seems to be running at a slower fps, which is low enough to be laggy?

Hmmmm of the top of my head I can't think of any real reason there would be that big of a drop in FPS, the only real difference between the two is that one uses NTSC and the other uses PAL.
Just thought I'd say but I have uploaded the 2009 version (that is compatible with RiceVideo) in its respective topic.

Yep, that's the PAL framerate.

Yeah, it appears so. I ran both Majora (U) and Majora (E) with the default graphics plugin (Jabo with default textures) and the European version ran noticeably slower. Really, anything lower than 20fps starts to appear laggy, so I don't know why the European version runs at a lower fps >_<

It runs at a lower framerate because 20 FPS is the multiple of 60 FPS for NTSC and 16.7 is the multiple of 50 FPS for PAL.

Oh yeah.. I fell in love with this texture pack but I'm playing MM on Android. I tried to find out how to get the textures out of the .dat file but it's confusing if you're not into this stuff :/

.dat files are made so that the textures are copy proof and it is imposable to hack. :)

Are they encrypted? Anyway, the graphics plugin can retrieve them to apply them to the game, so couldn't it be possible to modify the plugin to dump the loaded hires textures to a folder?

That would be a question for the currant video plugin devs.
As of now the only access to read the data is the rice/glide plugins.

I can absolutely understand Djipi that he doesn't want to see his textures within other packs without his permission. But wouldn't everyone recognize them instantly? He could watermark major textures or release a folder version for donators.
Maybe I'm a little bit green but I think the N64-emulator-highres-texture-scene is very very specific and familiar so that he mustn't fear his textures to be stolen.

So.. If you read this, Djipi, I love your textures. I would instantly donate for a folder version ;D

The problem with that is people leak stuff, I'd love the textures to be released just because I think it would be easier for people to use.

(cough)Pj64(/cough)

This does however put a damper on plugin based emulators that as of yet don't utilize the .dat file loading system.
To correct this issue we must correct the emulators not the emulated.
