What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

a few questions on dumping

Hi all,

there are a few things about dumping textures I don't understand yet.

Most of the info I have so far are from an early readme by Rice which explains the use of dumped textures.
What is missing in this readme is an explanation for the textures name _ciByRGBA though.
I read somewhere on this forums that it means, that it uses color index and RGBA but I don't understand how that is supposed to work.
Also in the readme the naming of the dumped textures are explained like this:
[part 1]#[part 2]#[part 3]#[part 4]_[part 5].[extension]
and each part explained.
Now the _ciByRGBA have an additional part between [part 4] and [part 5]. Would be great if someone clear the meaning up for me.

Another thing I encounter frequently is that certain textures don't get dumped. Sometimes if I retry some of the previously undumped textures suddenly work, some still don't. I tried 1964 and Glide and found 1964 in general dumping more textures than Glide.
Now Glide doesn't dump _rga and _a textures, just the _all ones. So I was wondering if there actually is a case where it would be better to modify the _rgb and _a textures instead of the _all ones.

Regards,
tao
