I have a really nice system and I recently got into emulation because I wanted to see how the games I grew up with would look like on a 1200p monitor with some fancy anti aliasing.
My system specs are:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Quad Core @ 3.8Ghz
2 x 2GB A-DATA 1600Mhz RAM 9-9-9-24
ATi Radeon 4890 1GB DDR5
This setup can run Crysis without a problem, yet it just drags along in Super Mario Sunshine. Also, I've noticed, besides the 15 frame per second rate of my normal gameplay, when I look at the sky, the sun in particular, or at the main title screen with the sun, my framerate drops to a sluggish 3-4 frames a second. I almost cried when I flung the stupid squid Blooper thing and I went and waited for it to come down.
The settings are so confusing, and I'd like to know what the best settings would be for me on this system, or if maybe another emulator would provide better performance. I have the latest Dolphin 2.0 64 bit.
