How to load 1964 save states in Project 64?

I want to load a 1964 save state in Project 64 but when I try to it loads it then comes up with a black screen or just freezes. What should I do?

States are not cross-compatible. Load a native save instead.

it's the real in game save.
this you can copy from 1964/save and place into pj64/save.

.eep .sra .fla are all transferable

.mpk are mempak saves. Don't know offhand if those can be transfered.

I was able to open the 1964 save in Project 64 but now I'm trying to open a Project 64 save in 1964 and when I try to it comes up with an error saying
"Failed in creation of Play Buffer 1"
I don't know if I did something wrong or not but does anyone know what's wrong now?
