OK, Router probs with connecting to mIRC and Direct Connect!

I was talking to someone on irc, i foget who, told me that i won't get irc to work when running a router and direct connect and other stuff, then he said there was a way to configure it to make it work, SOmeone know what i mean or help me please!

yea..

if you got that linksys 4 port, first of all, upgrade to the latest 1.42.6? firmware

then type (in IE) "http://your.routers.ip"

and it will load up a page, then go to advanced settings, and port forwarding, and set port
"113" to "113" to 168.192.0."xxx"
xxx = your computers last 3 digits of the IP when you run ipconfig

it should be either 100 or 101, depending on how the dhcp server set you

also, you need to open ports "1024" to "5000" and forward them to your comp as well

ok, this is what it looks like: everytime i save something, it just goes back to what this screen looks like, and irc still does not work, how do i open the ports as well? thanks again

i really dont think you have to have UDP checked.. but it doesnt hurt

josep-> new router firmware update released if you want to get it. its only a small update, but never hurts to have the latest :]
