Cheat code window goes blank!

Whenever I add a valid/c cheat code the window goes blank,and the cheat doesn't appear,what am I doing wrong,do I need to extract the CD file to the deskopt to make it work?



I forgot to tell ya,I have the file on a CD,so it isn't installed.

Would you mind elaborating on what are you talking about here? Project64 cheats or what? What file do you have on a CD exactly?
