Dolphin closes on ROM load
Whenever I open a rom, A message pops up that it has encountered a problem, and needs to close. Then it closes by itself. Am I doing something wrong?

System specifications along with the name of the game you are trying to play would be helpful.
What Dolphin version are you using? Try with the latest revisions (Revision 445). At the moment I only have revision 438 uploaded, but I plan on uploading a new revision later.
Links are in my signature for new revisions.

I am using a pentium 4 Running Windows XP, 512 MB of RAM. Dolphin version 1.0.2. The game I am trying to play is The Legend of Zelda: Four swords adventure.
(When I try the revision, I get a message that it is not a valid Win32 application.)

Wow, you're specifications aren't all that good, don't expect any games to run at a decent speed. I'll be surprised if you can get a game running.
What kind of graphics card do you have (Make, Model, Model #)?
Also I don't think that game is compatible yet, if it's part of the Zelda collectors edition it definitely isn't compatible yet.
The error message you are getting on the revisions is because you most likely downloaded the 64-bit version. You need the x86 build for 32-bit systems.
The 64-bit build is only for systems running 64-bit versions of Windows (Vista64/XP64) and AMD64/Core2Duo processors, some Pentium D's contain 64-bit instruction sets.
Just so you know as I mentioned above, don't expect playable speeds even if you can manage to get a game working.
