    CS:S Problem

I've been playing CS:S for a few weeks now no problem. I have recently been getting on and it has been unusually laggy. I have no idea what the problem is. I can see my grenades going but you'll see it in stages, hard to explain. Everyone that is running you see like every 4 steps but not the movement in between. It's really pissing me off and I can't figure out what's wrong. I tried uninstallating and reinstalling with no luck. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or not... Any ideas? It might also be my router...

Are you downloading things (more importantly, are you uploading things?) while playing? Also, behind a router, did you put any sort of QoS into effect? What is your ping typically like on servers?

Make sure no unnecessary programs are running and using up your bandwidth. Also it could be the servers you are playing on, meaning the server could be overseas or something. Also if you haven't, try resetting your router.

I smell virus scanner or shared bandwidth issues. If you are on wireless, make sure your router is secured. If all else fails, trace where your packets are going and determine the latency bottleneck. If it's beyond your ISP, you might be SOL.
