Jnes joypad not working

I recently bought an USB adapter that I can plug up either a PS2/X or N64 controller into. I've been successful in assigning buttons on my zsnes and visualboyadvance emus, but can't assign the buttons on my n64 controller to use on my jnes. I have the latest version 1.0 Jnes too.



What am I doing wrong, or is this adapter even going to work with the jnes?
