Is there a verification code when you register an account? Maybe it would stop them.

OffTopic: It is just me or is the post of JKKDARK flickering?

Back2Topic: afaik there's a image verification (captchas) but no email verification... but don't remember, it's a loooong time ago I registered here.

At least it gives me something to do, I guess. I must have removed at least 50 similar threads by now.

But seriously, something needs to be done.

I agree. We need some pictures with squiggly letters on them!

(It's been a while since I registered too - the forum doesn't already have those does it?)

It's been discussed however I'm not certain of what new prevention features have been added. Before going further (IE us Mods) it would be good to check what security we currently have for new users. I always thought a 1 day wait before posting was the biggest spam bot deterent then again other people just can't wait

Erstwhile it's too bad there is no easy way to hunt these people down, and ... well lets say make there days miserable.

I like the idea of turing-test type spam prevention over captchas. "Please enter the correct answer to some-simple-math-problem" or "Please select the tiger from the 3 pictures below" etc
