Gekko hits Digg Frontpage news!

Last night Gekko made Digg frontpage news over a picture, the high resolution fullscreen of the Zelda WW Title (http://files.ngemu.com/gc/gekko/pics/ZWW_gekko_fullscreen_AA_AS.jpg), pretty much locking up our server for the evening. (I think lightning said the cpu was running at 70 times 100%) I do not even want to think what will happen when we release a version.

Quick stats:
147 max people on the forum (www.gekko-emu.com/forums) at once before the database could not keep up.

Usage stats show 67084 maximum hits for a day (note, a hit is 1 IP potentially accessing multiple pages), average a day is 16791 hits.

We chewed thru 1.4GB of bandwidth last night and most of our pictures are not local but on image shack, etc

I'm unsure how many people joined #gekko on EFNet.

592 Diggs last I looked.

The Digg site was removed due to the poster deleting his account, however here is evidence:

Congrats! Then again, if you look at what else makes it to the digg front page, this might be nothing to be proud of ;-)

Thakis, true, not always something to be proud of, however Digg has now become the new /. in bandwidth usage and server overload. Due to Digg's design, it becomes easy to make it to the front page making this problem even worse.
