How can I play Goldeneye with online multiplayer?
I create a game and the multiplayer option is still shaded in grey and I can't select it.

You need more than one controller plugged in. Emulation of controller plugging in can be either by configuring the input plugin or using an online emulator, such as Project64k.
Unless you are planning to play online games with certain individuals, this emulator is probably your best bet, since most people use it. You'll need to use the same emulator as everyone else to play with those included.
Download Project64k from here.

But, there is a group of people using Mupen64k, testing GoldenEye. I would suggest trying that emulator. Maybe we can get some proseletyzings...

Project64K will not sync Goldeneye properly, and it will Sync in Mupen64K although the connections need to be lag free.

I will just confirm the above post. It was a brilliant experience.
