Opening image vs. backed up disc

Is there a large difference in the speed of emulation?

What do you want to say with "Opening image"?

He probably means loading the image on a virtual drive and running it from there vs. running it from an actual disc.

I haven't seen any difference in emulation speed. Only when it wants to load data and the disc is not spinning there is a notable pause to give the disc time to start spinning for like 1-2 seconds.

I have all my games in image forms and on DVDs. That's the slowest one can get and it doesn't annoy me even one bit (1-2 seconds of loading every 5 minutes is nothing)

I was actually referring to Demul's image plugin that allows you to open the actual image it self without mounting as opposed to reading from an actual physical drive, but yeah, I've experienced that spin down lag as well. I was just wondering if there was any difference but I don't think there really is. Power Stone and Power Stone 2 start off well, but then experience serious slowdown.

I checked again: No difference. Not even 1fps.
