I happened to pick up a XMS 5.1 (6 CH) headphones for $50, originally $150, rated at 20Hz.

It has a subwoofer with vibration which is pretty cool, although you can get an ear ache from continious rumbling but it's got a volume control for each channel so you can turn it down/off.

Even though surround sound fx is emulated well you can hear faint hissing during the silent moments which can get annoying after a while but the head phones are light and cover your ears quite comfortably.

I personally wouldn't spend anymore than $100 for headphones - particulary surround sound headphones. You will never get the true surround effect that a 5.1 receiver and speakers gives you.

I got these Koss in ear plugs, i´m pretty happy with those, surround effect is really nice, and when you use it, YOU are the subwoofer, i can´t tell you how many times i have checked if my surround system is on...Because the vibration is pretty awesome. I get incredible sound, even on my crappy mp3 player...

If i ever disagree with you, it is not because i´m trying to be an asshole. It is just to tell you that you are wrong
