    Fraps

Everytime I try to use FRAPS with Project64 v1.6, it crashes. I tried rebooting my PC, and only running the two, but it still crashed. Is it possible that my PC specs are too low (should be in sig)?

Note: it works fine with 1.5, but 1.5 doesn't work with all the games I like playing.

This is an image of the error message I get when I start FRAPS. I ran ProccessExplorer in the background to show that it doen't appear to be using all my system recsources.

I have the same one. I have seen a lot of the moderators suggest FRAPS for recording, so it must be something with my PC.

I have an Nvidia Vanta 16mb. It's not a problem with FRAPS, it works with almost any other game.

Just another quick question, how do you make your stats appear in your sig? I edited them in my prfile, but they didn't show up.

User CP --> Edit Profile. Make sure that you save the changes.

Nvidia Vanta? I've never heard of an Nvidia card by that name. 16MB video RAM is way below minimum specs for the Direct3D8 plugin though.

Vanta is a make of the TNT era.

    you had Riva TNT
    and Riva Vanta i believe.

i didn't get into computers till the geforce 2 era.. so i can't exactly pull that info from memory...

    ahh yes.. i was right

its a value card based of the TNT architecture

    a guess:
    vanta+fraps+d3d8 plugin = crash
    vanta+fraps+d3d6 plugin = ok maybe?

So how do I go about changing the plugin. Is it just a simple cut and paste job into a directory? If so, where would I find the other plugin?

Edit: I figured out how, and it worked. Makes the game run a little smoother too. Thanks a lot Smiff
