Wow, that is seriously stupid. I wonder what was going through his head at the time

"Gee. I wonder what the fastest way to opening this highly explosive device even though I should probably leave this to the army to deal with"

    *Man grabs sledgehammer*

"This'll do the trick in record time, i'll be able to get home to my significant other and make sweet love because today is the day the comdoms arrived in the mail and i'm way too shy to buy them in the mens bathroom, only been waiting several years for delivery"

    *Explosion!*

"Who would've thought that a sizeable explosive could kill meeeeeee" in wizard of oz style

In other words, this is like having a smoke while investigating a gas leak.

My friend has a grenade with all the explosive material taken out of it. It was drilled. Maybe that would have helped him.

Thatīs not the first, a guy in 2004 killed his entire family when he tried to disassemble a grenade he found over a dumpster, ppl here can be really dumb sometimes, i mean, even if you donīt know what it is, it still has the potential to be harmful.

Drilling a live grenade is not recommended They drill to prevent it being used later (though I suppose welding a plate to the bottom should fix the hole)...

EDIT: not to mention the primer is probably missing in that drilled grenade so it can't cook off when you release the spoon.

Maybe the poverty make people do things like that, trying to get metal to sell at any costs

But is still funny like in

    photos and videos

It was drilled to empty out the explosive material. It was probably done by somebody who knew what he was doing.
