    LoZ: OoT Corrupted Save State

I've been playing LoZ: OoT for about 4 days now (and a very large amount of these 4 days, summer vacation) and recently I ran into the problem above. I just reached the Fire Temple, with maybe 1/3 of it done so far, with 60 Gold Skulltulas, and about 17-18 Heart Pieces. Basically, I have been taking my sweet time to play this game, which is why this loss of my save state is particularly frustrating. Before this, I have been having troubles with my graphics, first starting with Jabo's default plugin, which worked well for awhile until I kept getting a particular error (can't remember which), and I had to switch to Rice's video plugin. The first version of Rice's plugin I downloaded was 6.1.1, which caused me many problems, mostly with the fact I have been experimenting with the hi-res texture feature. My version of this plugin caused me to crash almost every 30 seconds, or less, until I finally was able to fix it with v. 6.1.1 beta 10. This was about at the Forest Temple when I downloaded this version of the plugin. When I reached the Fire Temple stated earlier, I had one crash, where I had to restart my computer, but my save state was fine. Then, I went through another crash, this time my save state became corrupted. I have no idea why; the crash occurred probably a minute or more after my last quick save, so I don't think that PJ64 was in mid save and crashed. I already tried WinRAR's rebuilding function, but that only allowed PJ64 to load the save state, but nothing else would occur after a usually temporary black screen. I guess the only thing I can hope for is for someone else is at the same stage as me, unless there is a way to repair the save state (or even make your own, that would be a cool feature). Anyway, I'll post my computer stats to help more with this situation:

    AMD Athlon64 3200+
    1GB Corsair SDRAM
    Asus A8N-E AMD Motherboard (SLI-capable)
    EVGA 256MB PCI-E Geforce 6800 GS
    Windows 2000 Professional NT 5 SP 4

Also, my LoZ: OoT ROM is v. 1.2 (although if someone has an extra save like I asked for earlier, I won't mind finding a different version). And, I used the search feature of this forum, most LoZ: OoT posts concerned the ROM itself or people asking for save files of the game 100% completed. Another sidenote (sorry), I just saw someone else post a problem about their save states, and no, my saves are not read-only.

That's why you shouldn't solely rely on save states instead of native saves.

I believe there is one member who has uploaded saves of OoT before each temple and such, but can't remember his name. Check the save submissions topic.

Well I would use native saves, but they don't see to work for me. I will start my ROM, and when I go to the list to select my profile, it will show that I just started, with 3 heart pieces. Now I'm replaying from a save I had before luckily, but it's with 40 Gold Skulltulas and 7 Heart Pieces and without any temples beaten.

EDIT: I just found the post you were talking about, and found a save with the Forest Temple beaten, although right now I would like to obtain all the heart pieces, or at least get 50 Gold Skulltulas (100 Gold Skulltulas just gets you 200 rupees, not worth it). The save starts with 27 Gold Skulltulas and 1 Heart Piece, so I'm wondering would it take longer from my no temples beaten, 40 Gold Skulltulas and 7 Heart Pieces save or the save mentioned earlier to reach my goal of just starting the Fire Temple (with 50 Gold Skulltulas and at least 16 Heart Pieces).
