Unhappy Problem with Castlevania (the first one)

The game crashes ramdomly and Windows closes the emu, making an awful noise . I've never had any problem with other games, just this one. I tried changing between Jabo's and Rice's graphic plugins, but it didn't help. I updated my drivers but it's all the same.

I have a GeForce FX 5200, and a Sound Blaster Live Value. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi The Spoony Hou, veryfie your rom in GoodN64, maybe its your rom that needs to be redumped or something.

Or just get another rom of your game from another source.

    Good Luck & Have Fun!

I doubt it's a problem with the sound plugin. I'm not aware of any recurring problems with Castlevania at all. Without knowing exactly what's happening (is there an error message for instance?) It's hard to determine what the issue is. I can only suggest that you make sure DirectX and all drivers are up to date, and make sure you're using a known good dump of the rom.

My ROM is checked (it's the US 1.2 version). There no error message, the screen goes black, makes a horrible noise, and appears the default Windows XP "program x sucks" message.

My drivers are updated, but I'll check for DirectX just to be safe.

I updated DirectX, but it didn't help. The error message is this:

    AppName: project64.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: rsp.dll
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000261c

And I'm attaching the Windows log.

I have these crashes also with:
    Castlevania (U) (V1.2) [!] (verified with GoodN64)

I noticed someone in the big Project64 thread had them too.

    My specs:
    Project64 1.6
    default plugins and settings
    resolution set to 640x480 fullscreen

    P4 3.6 GHz
    1 GB RAM
    GeForce 7800 GTX
    Soundblaster X-Fi
