Heh slightly late but what the hell eh, only just saw it & dont recall seeing it here, news:
Lots of stuff new since the last official release, so just check the changelog for more details.
The last official release was made on 5/17/05, so anything after that should be in this release.

The plugin pack includes current CVS (as of 11/06, of course) of the following plugins: CDVDbin, CDVDiso, CDVDnull, DEV9null, FireWireNull, FWlinuz, GSsdl, GSSoftDX, PadSSSPSX, PadwinKeyb, SPU2null, USBlinuz, and USBnull
Just unzip the plugin pack in the "plugins" folder, and unzip the PCSX2 binary to your pcsx2 directory.
home the changelog link on the site doesnt seem to work though

:ranting:

The team have not made a public release, this is just the CVS compiled by someone unrelated to the team, and certainly not contacted us about it.

The team have made it incredibly clear that they do not mind people compiling the CVS for PERSONAL use, but people distributing the compiled CVS and plugins they do not want. We have enough confusion and hassle as it is, with helping people with 1 version, yet alone various versions, especially when the CVS is in a painfully delicate stage. They would find compat even lower and the beta more unstable, and we suffer enough n00bs as it is!

The other reason is that compiles pop up from time to time with virus's, distributed with the BIOS etc, people will end up grabbing one of these and find it with a BIOS etc, leading to complaints and damaging the reputation of the team, thus to garuntee the end users safety and the reputation of the team, we wish for only ONE OFFICIAL SOURCE for any binaries distributed.

Just Another Wacko ;)
Well... I'm not against compiling the source of an emulator (as long as it stays within the limits of the licence) but posting news about it is a big no-no for the reasons stated above. Taking permission from the authors is also recommended. A document saying that this is not a stable/official release with notes about not bugging the authors/forums/etc. about it is also a must.

Making the source closed or private would alleviate the problem of 3rd party binaries and unwanted CVS bug reports. As ipher would probably only looks at the Sourceforge page (where it says nothing at all about authors wishes), it is unlikely that he was aware that the authors don't want people compiling WIP builds. It is very unlikely that ipher means harm in this, he compiles many applications including ZSNES, FakeNES, Gens and FCE Ultra for the emulation community. Just email him and he will take the build down.
