    New user here...

Hey all guys. First off, I would like to say you guys are doing a good job.

I DLed the emu a couple of nights ago, and got my hands on Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I got it running, slowly though at FPS between 2.5-11.33 the max.

My question is that the game is running in B&W. What could be the problem?

    PC Specs:
    AMD AthlonXP 2400+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz
    512MB DDR RAM
    2+GB VRAM
    2 HDD: 1. 80 GB 2. 250 GB
    nVIDIA GForce2 MX/MX400 64MB RAM
    sound is on-board, don't remember
Current Display Settings are 1024x768 at 32bit 60Hz rate

I tried to take a screenshot, but I can't find where the file was saved to.

Sounds like a pixel shaders problem. With a DX9 compliant video card, you will get the correct colours, like those seen for the game on the Dolphin homepage.

Like clements said, no pixel shader, no colours.

Don't think that a new video card will significantly improve your FPS though...

Well, I DLed updated drivers for my card, and the new drivers are DX9c compatible. It still doesn't work. Here is a description of how I have Dolphin configed:

    Graphics Card: GeForce2 MX/MX 400
    Device Type: HAL
    Use Shader Ver. PS 2.0
    Windows Mode: 512x384
AntiAlias Mode: No antialiasing (when I turn it on, I get Direct3D error

Can someone explain to me how I can properly config Dolphin????

Or maybe my version of MP2 is bad

OK, before I go to bed (3:21AM EST here) I think I found something. Doing some reserach I found that my GeForce2 MX/MX400 does not allow pizel shaders. However, if someone has MP2, can you just off the pixel shader option and see if it shows up in black and white? It's weird because the Nintendo logo comes in red before the Dolby icon and into the game.

Does this mean, that any game I get will actually be in only black and white then????

    Is double posting allowed?

    Have you tried shrinking it?

Yes I have tried shrinking it. I found that option this morning. However, instead of the file being 1.4GB it goes to 2.0GB and it won't boot.

I'm trying to get my hands on other games, hopefully I should get them this afternoon. It would be nice to play some DBZ: Budokai.

After shrinking it once, you must shrink it again

I ended having DBZ: Budokai 2, FF Crystal Chronicles, and some other game. THe only game that gave me color was DBZ. I did do some research and found out the the video card doesn't support pixel shading. So, I'll probably get a new card.

Does anyone one here know of a mid-line card that has VIVO and pixel shading cap.?
