Naruto 3 hangs on start screen?

I've gotten past the red/white bars and through the intro just fine, but when I reach the start screen (the screen where it says the title, and "press start button") and press start, the game freezes completely.

Sorry to be a bother, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

In version 1.03 BETA i managed to play the game on 4 fps and with sound.

But i used some shrunk thing to, it was a guide to it here on this board.
And when you shrunked the .GCM file it become more playable.
