How exactly is the process of reverse engineering both hardware and software?
What kind of knowledge does it require?
Does anyone have URL about the subjet?
thx

Well, in a nutshell. You have to have a software that can monitor the CPU and Windows functions that it calls and various other things as well. And then run it while the monitors are running and then use that information, with your own programming knowledge of how to call those processes to piece together the program. You can never get an exact replica of the code because every programmer does things different. And as you put the program together, you will be calling processes differently than how it was done originally. Its very complicated, difficult and could take 20 years to get even small programs. Thats why you don't hear about people doing that kind of stuff often.
