Indeed, quite the improvement
i have an idea about character textures:
i know editing them in photoshop makes no sense because there are too much of them. but how about some kind of batch processing? for example there is a executable from the hq4x filter. it shouldn't be hard work. i also think a better result for the character textures would bring a advmame4x scale filter. but i don't know if there is a executable out there.textures would stay in the original style but appear much sharper. what do you think?
advmame scale filter examples
in most cases i like hq4x more but some textures look much better with scale4x
and i think mario kart64 character-tex do so
just turn on hq4x filter enhancement to compare
finally i found a executable for scale4x
now it looks like hq4x is the best option but i also like some details on scale4x
what do you think?
hq2x is working good for me because it's not that extreme like hq4x
resized for comparrison
