  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

  • As members seem to have a problem reading the release threads:

    Djipi's packs are built for the (Glide64 finale) Plugin. Nolonger supported!
    Djipi's packs are built for the (GlideN64) Plugin.
    These two Plugins are two completely different pieces of code.

    GlideN64.HTC archived packs locked by Djipi are not compatible with use on Glide64, Rice video, nor Jabo video.

    Glide64.DAT archived packs locked by Djipi are not compatible with use on GlideN64, Rice video, nor Jabo video.

    Djipi has never made a pack for use with Rice video and never will. any packs found in this format are not authorized!

    GlideN64 is the new standard and only requires an Radeon 6XXX.
    This is a somewhat older GPU and should be readily available.
    Do everyone a favor and upgrade!

Well, I've been working more on my Magikoopa model with some inspiration from Kerb... so we have some more eye candy for you:

Anyone who can help us figure out how to fully replace the top and bottom images of any frame of character animation? I'd like a step-by-step "for dummies" guide

somehow, when i load the textures the game dithers. but only on stages with worldtextures. i dont understand it. other packs worked good for me so far.

This is my fault you need to remove the spaces enbetween Mario and Kart on each texture. If you look through the thread carefully somone has already done this for you. This is just a matter of me getting a better rom dump.

sorry kerber i think u got me wrong, it loads all the textures, thats not he point.
but the screen dithers/shakes on stages, where you have done the world textures. on others not.

You have updated video card drivers? I dunno never heard of this problem before. Ask your question in the plugin thread?

takas, I had the same problem and for some reason putting in that I had a high end video card fixed it for me. My video card in the computer I play my roms on is definitely not high end. Anyway maybe it will help you too.

This is with the files renamed MARIOKART64 rather than Mario Kart 64 . . . again, thanks Kerber2k for all the hard work you've put into creating high res graphics for Mario Kart.

I did a bit of retexturing Mario Kart 64 myself... had I realised some had already started I would've chosen a different game. Here's a picture of the sort of things I did, but otherwise I think I'll just stop mine and leave it to Kerb.

Oh well :(.

Retexturing is a lot of work and if only one does it alone, it is most likely that it will be only partly finished.

I would love to see, if you two give it a shot together,

I think a cartoony/cel-shaded style would fit the game. simple patterns, simple colours, and drawn character style...

I debated the direction in wich to take the project many times, and I think keeping it true to the original as much as possiable would be the best. Here are some bannanas yummy.
